The Best Crockpot BBQ Chicken

Okay, I know I say this a lot, but this recipe.... it's a gift from heaven above. I have yet to meet someone who does not love this one. Picky children? This will even get a two thumbs up from them. SCORE!

Better yet - there's only 5 ingredients! (not including salt :D that doesn't count) You just throw them all in a crockpot. How easy is that? You may be the worst cook ever, but I guarantee that you can make this recipe successfully!

The leftovers of this BBQ chicken are amazing too. I think it tastes even better the next few days when all the flavors have come even more together. Here's some ideas for using the leftovers: chopped BBQ chicken salad, loaded BBQ chicken baked sweet potato, BBQ chicken lettuce wraps, and sandwiches.


  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (choose one with no high fructose corn syrup)
  • 1/4 cup zesty Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar 
  • 1 TB Worcestershire sauce
  • salt to taste


  1. Season chicken breasts very lightly with salt and place in a crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, combine BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Pour over chicken. Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. When it's done cooking, you can either shred the chicken with two forks or serve it whole. We've always shredded it. If you choose to do so, after you shred it, let it sit the crockpot with the sauce for another 10-15 minutes to let it all soak up the barbecue goodness.
  5. You can eat it by itself, on hamburger buns, in wraps, etc. Enjoy!
